Hidimba was a demon who lived in the forest of Himachal Pradesh. Hidimba fell in love with Bhima, who was one of the character in Mahabharata. Bhima is one of the five Pandavas. By seeing her devoted love towards him, he also fell for Hidimba and they got married.
It is said that Hidimba was the protecter of the forest, hence this temple is dedicated to Hidimba which is surrounded by the dense forest. She is being worshipped because of her loyalty, love, devotion, strength and protectiveness toward others. The temple is made of wood and horns of the animals hanging around the temple.

Best time to Hidimba temple is in summer from March to June when the weather is pleasant. The temple opening timings are 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
