Belvan is a village in Braj Bhoomi. Bel means wood apple tree and van means forest, because of this forest is full of wood apple trees hence, it is called Belvan. It is said that Goddess Lakshmi came in this village to pray, meditate and join Lord Krishna’s Rasleela. It is not very popular among people but you must visit if you are on a Mathura Vrindavan Trip. Maa Lakshmi is believed to do penance in Belvan village.

Belvan is approx 30 kilometers from Mathura Railway Station and it takes around 45 to 50 mins to reach there.
How to Reach to Belvan

From Mathura Bus Stand: It takes around 40 min to 45 min to reach and the distance is approx 20 km.
From Vrindavan Bus Stand: It takes around 1 hr to 1.5 hrs to reach and the distance is approx 35 km.

Best time to visit Belvan is between october to March during the time of Sharad Purnima as during the time of these months villagers celebrate in a special way and pray to goddess in the temple.
