You can now simply re-add them as a friend in your new game and travel to theirACNH Items to retrieve all of your belongings!!

  It's a similar situation with home-made recipes. Make sure you don't learn them because once you do, the recipes will be lost forever. rather than storing them, transport them along with your other items to be saved and retrieve them once your new island and character have been established!
