Overview

  • You can get a very good multimedia laptop at a reasonable price if you shop around. When it comes to multimedia laptops, it's common to find a happy medium between price and overall performance. Typically, these devices have high-definition displays for watching videos, are powerful enough to play light games, and are reasonably priced. We'll be taking a look at the new K15 OLED series from Asus, which is surprisingly affordable considering its high-definition display and high-end performance capabilities.

Asus Vivobook K15 OLED series pricing in India starts at approximately Rs. 47,000 and can reach approximately Rs. 80,000, depending on the configuration. It is available in two color options: black or white. Rather than the Intel processors found in the majority of other variants, we'll be testing a variant that falls somewhere in the middle and uses an AMD Ryzen processor rather than one of the other two. Consider whether or not the Asus Vivobook K15 OLED is a worthy contender for your consideration, given the limited number of other OLED laptops available in this price range. Please take a look at the following:

The Asus VivoBook K15 OLED (KM513) laptop was designed by Asus.

The Asus VivoBook K15 OLED has a large footprint due to the 15.6-inch display, but it is neither thick nor unwieldy in comparison due to the thin and light design. While 1.8kg is a little on the heavy side for a laptop of this size, it's not too bad for a laptop of this size. Despite the fact that the chassis's construction quality is excellent, the plastics have a good fit and finish, and there is no unwanted flex or creaks anywhere on the chassis. Asus provided me with a unit that was finished in Hearty Gold, but this model should also be available in other colors, including Indie Black and Transparent Silver.

The OLED display is the focal point of the overall design. This 15.6-inch screen has a full-HD resolution, a maximum brightness of 600nits, and full support for the DCI-P3 color gamut. It is also available in a variety of other sizes. In addition to color accuracy and low blue-light emission certifications, the display can be certified by companies such as Pantone and TUV Rheinland, among others. The Asus Vivobook K15 OLED has narrow borders on its left and right sides, as well as slightly thicker borders on its top and bottom, which contrast with the rest of the device. Above the screen, there is a built-in webcam with a 720p resolution, but the image quality is not particularly impressive. In spite of the fact that there is some flex in the lid, there is no discernible impact on the display.

The fact that you can type on a full-sized keyboard with a number pad when using a 15.6-inch laptop is a significant advantage over using a smaller laptop. After switching from a smaller laptop, I had to retrain my muscle memory because I kept pressing the wrong keys at first, which was frustrating. This was something I had to get used to, but it only took a couple of days. Even though the keys themselves are well-spaced and comfortable, I wish they had been slightly sculpted rather than flat to provide a more comfortable typing experience for the consumer. There are fluorescent green highlights on the 'Enter' key, which is a nice little finishing touch to round out the keyboard. On the keyboard, the arrow keys are also evenly spaced apart. The fingerprint sensor on the Asus VivoBook K15 OLED is located in one of the trackpad's corners, which makes TFT display easy to identify the device. It performs admirably and does not create a hindrance in the workplace.
