The game Diablo 2 Resurrected, which is based on the bones of a twenty-year-old game, was found to be taxing the capabilities of new-generation hardware in a new frame rate test conducted on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles. Diablo 2 Resurrected Items is now available for purchase on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X gaming consoles, as well as on the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system.

When playing Diablo 2 Resurrected, you can choose between a frame rate-focused setting and a graphics-intensive setting that is separate from the frame rate setting. This is similar to the option available in a number of other PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X titles. As a result of the recent release of Diablo 2 Resurrection on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox One Series X consoles, the folks at VG Tech decided to put together a useful demonstration of the game's frame rate on both systems in both Quality and Performance modes. The results may surprise you. Take a look at the video below to see for yourself.

With the PlayStation 5 or Xbox One X in Quality mode, you will be able to enjoy the game at its full 4K resolution, with the occasional dip to 1440p, while maintaining a frame rate of 30 frames per second. Even though most new games will be unable to achieve 4K resolution at 60 frames per second, it is reasonable to expect that a remake of an older game will have an easier time accomplishing this goal.

It is necessary to enable Performance mode on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in order to play Diablo 2 Resurrection at the desired frame rate of 60 frames per second. Although the game was optimized for 1440p, VG Tech discovered that it can also be played at 960p when using this configuration. A few frames per second may be lost during intense action sequences, despite the fact that the frame rate remains constant at 60 frames per second throughout the game.

The Xbox Series S, on the other hand, is capable of running Diablo 2 Resurrection at 1080p in Performance mode at a relatively consistent 60 frames per second in the same resolution, despite its small size. While showing a particularly dramatic scene, the frame rate decreases dramatically, reaching a low of 30 frames per second at one point in the movie. If you're using the Xbox Series S, you can expect to see 1440p and 30 frames per second on average, but if there's a lot of action, your frame rate may drop to the low 20s.

It is currently available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X, PC, and Nintendo Switch, among other platforms. Diablo 2 Resurrected Items can also be played on the PlayStation 3 if you have a PlayStation 3.
