There is a magical force at work in the prison, as if some sort of magical force has compelled the hinges to swivel around and open the doors on their own. This is a watershed moment in the Dark Wanderer's career, one that solidifies his status as a being of magic and power in the world.
This, on the other hand, was not always true. The Dark Wanderer was welcomed into the game by a warden character who appeared in the game's pre-release marketing materials. In order to open the door, it was originally intended for the warden to be present; however, that character was never included in the game. It had an impact on the overall setting of the situation. In the shipped version, the Dark Wanderer does not appear to be invited; instead, they appear to be free to choose their own path.

No matter what Blizzard's original intention was or what makes the most sense given the context of the scene, this is in direct conflict with the company's philosophy for Resurrected.
The following interviews with Rod Fergusson, executive producer of the Diablo franchise at Blizzard, and Rob Gallerani, principal designer at Blizzard's support studio, Vicarious Visions, were conducted prior to BlizzConline. A 30-minute conversation with the duo revealed that the philosophy behind D2R ladder items Resurrection could not have been more clearly articulated by anyone. It is, for the simple reason that it was required, what the players of the game remembered. Blizzard determined that a large number of deviations, including important quality-of-life features, were inappropriate for implementation and did not proceed with them.
According to Gallerani, the vast majority of players play with the map displayed while they are engaged in the game. There was a request that came up during the play test that we will be implementing. It was primarily from people who have never played buy Diablo 2 resurrected items but are used to playing more modern games. The request was something along the lines of "I just received a quest."What happened to the dot on the map that indicated the location I needed to go to?
Gallerani continued, "We looked into doing something like that, and you're like, "Well, it doesn't break anything, does it?" we thought about it. Gallerani explained that the idea of doing something like that had been discussed. It does not, in any way, shape, or form, give my character an unfair advantage or anything of the sort. And it had a significant impact on the overall atmosphere of the game.
The addition of a revamped minimap and icons to direct you towards your destination may have resulted in a more modern Diablo experience, but the game didn't feel as authentic as the Diablo 2 of 20 years ago. As stated by Blizzard, the company's philosophy was that if a feature didn't feel authentic, it would be removed from the game entirely.
