  There are no further excursions to the hardware shop because their tank sumps come with a 3" hole saw and stainless or aluminum hardware. With a single O-ring, you can rest assured that there will be no leaks. Rather than using a pipe thread style fitting, their tank sump is the only one available. Quick disconnect connections (found on many aftermarket fuel systems) and 1/2" push-lock style hoses can both be used with the fittings.
