  However, there are still many variables to keep in mind when calculating Clinical Trials costs. Phase 3 studies involve increasing patient numbers and are conducted blindly. These studies can last months or years.
  
  The goal of this phase is to gain the most accurate understanding of the drug or device and identify potential side effects and severity. The information gained during this stage is crucial for the approval process by the FDA. However, phase 3 studies are also the most expensive.
  
  
  Phase 4 Clinical Trials can cost a relatively modest amount. However, the results of these trials can guide the treatment of millions of future patients. The cost per trial varies by drug and number of trials.
  
  A single trial can cost about US$28 million, but two or more Clinical Trials can almost double the cost.
