  1. If you are having Apple pencil 1 then you need to pull out cap from the end of the Apple pencil & plug
  2.  inside your iPad. 
  3. And if you are having an Apple pencil 2, you need to attach the pencil to iPad side using a magnetic connector. If connected automatically, you need not pair but if not, 
  4. Tap the Pair option.
