Here are eight tips for how to prepare your semi-truck for spring.

   

  1. Check your fluids. This includes engine oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and coolant. Make sure all your fluids are at the correct levels and that there are no leaks. You may also need to switch out some fluids if you are using formulations designed specifically for cold weather.
  2. Check your tires. Winter takes a toll on tires, so take this opportunity to inspect them thoroughly. Look for signs of wear, such as cracks, bulges, or tread that's worn unevenly. Test tire pressures and make sure they're all at the recommended level. Replace your tires if they are worn out.
  3. Inspect your brakes. Brakes are crucial to safety on the road, so make sure they're in good condition. Check your brake pads, rotors, and calipers for wear and tear and, if you find any issues, get them fixed immediately.
