One UK study from 2020 found that online betting enthusiasts bet more on sports than land-based bookmakers: 38.7% of online players bet £10-100 ($13.80 - $138), while only 29% of land-based visitors spend the same amount.
In African countries, players tend to bet smaller but more frequently. It's estimated that 30% of Nigerians bet daily, and the average bet is 300 naira (that's about $0.78). According to a
Jeetbuzz app, 58% of male players in Kenya bet about once a week. Statistics cited by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics state that the average bet across the country is £1.30 ($1.80), and this is despite the fact that Kenyan players in total place as much as 180 million bets per month! The logical conclusion is not at all surprising: those who play online bet more often and more than those who visit land-based alternatives.
