Former RuPaul’s Drag Race and Y&R alum Kenyon Glover is under restraining order in Shreveport, Louisiana, and will remain under the order, a court has ruled. Glover’s latest accuser was granted a permanent restraining order against the actor, a spokesperson for Caddo Parish Clerk of Court tells TheCineTalk. 

 

Glover, 45, was summoned to appear in court by the Caddo Parish Clerk of Court. He violated the court order by failing to appear to defend a protective order amid abuse and sexual violence claims being levied against him. 

 

Glover has been charged with assaulting a woman involving abuse and physical force. 

 

The judge had previously granted a temporary Louisiana Uniform Abuse Prevention Order for sexual assault against Glover. Court documents show the order was granted even though Glover did not attend his court case which the judge ordered would continue in his absence. 

 

According to the court spokesperson, the victim’s lawyer is listed as counsel Holland Miciotto, son of prominent Shreveport attorney Ronald J. Miciotto. Judge Michael A. Pitman, a former Louisiana State University (LSU) law professor, presided over the case. 

 

Judge Pitman previously served as an assistant district attorney in Caddo and Bossier Parishes, where he specialized in prosecuting high-profile felonies, according to the Louisiana judiciary.

 

A source familiar with the case from the Shreveport Bar Foundation says based on the evidence presented by the victims attorney in court, the Caddo Parish judge granted a permanent restraining order against Glover.

 

This legal conflict comes in the wake of Glover being the subject of a court case involving assault in Los Angeles County. The latest ruling marks the second permanent restraining order granted against Glover. 

 

The actor is currently under a permanent violence restraining order in California. 

 

A Los Angeles Superior Court representative confirmed to TheCineTalk that the judge ruled the victim was assaulted. The insider stated that the ruling was based on what the court found was “clear and convincing evidence” against Glover.

 

The source said the judge labeled the testimony as "disturbing."

 

The legal action came after the court heard testimony from both the victim and Glover, who admitted he was in possession of a handgun, admitted to removing the weapon from the holster, and handling the weapon in the victim's presence in the time period preceding the assault. 

 

Governor Newsom appointed judge Alfred A. Coletta presided over the case. Judge Coletta is a former deputy district attorney and 30-year veteran prosecutor with the Los Angeles County district attorney's office. 

 

According to court documents, Glover, a self-proclaimed minister, was a spiritual advisor to the victim. 

 

Discovery in the Los Angeles court case revealed that Glover had a history of domestic violence where he was charged with assaulting his ex-wife, a Los Angeles model.

 

The full order of protection against Glover signed by the Louisiana judge orders him to have no contact whatsoever with the protected person. This includes physically staying away from the victim, her home, school, or place of business. 

 

Glover is to refrain from communicating with the protected person via mail, telephone, email, or any form of electronic communication, through social media or via third parties. In addition to refraining from assault, Glover is prohibited from any other criminal offense against the protected person, making him subject to charges for such actions. 

 

The full order of protection mandates that Glover is to refrain from stalking, harassing, intimidating, threatening or otherwise interfering with the victim. 

 

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, “Stalking is one of four crimes addressed in the Violence Against Women Act.” Victim Connect reports, “Stalking is a serious and dangerous crime that can cause harm and fear to its victims. Stalking is a crime under the laws of all 50 states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Territories, and the Federal government.” 

 

Victim Connect says, “Stalking is often violent and can escalate over time.”

 

“Though stalking can occur in any community, shame, fear of retribution, or concerns that they will not be supported lead many victims to forego reporting the crime to the police. Glover has not publicly responded to any of the controversy surrounding him. The former professional basketball player has come under scrutiny for not having any reference to being a minister on his official website where he promotes himself as an actor, producer, director, model, host, philanthropist, author and business owner. 

 

The actor is also a self-proclaimed publicist and is listed as the public relations director for Laughs For Life Savers. However, there is no reference to the organization on any of Glover’s media feeds.

 

Recent investigations have uncovered that Glover is facing backlash for misleading or dishonest content ranging from paid partnerships, padding/purchasing Instagram followers/likes, falsely displaying lifestyle imagery, editing out a tattoo - the name Desiree on his arm - in posts, to discrepancies over his seminary degree, and industry affiliations.  

 

In recent weeks, it was also uncovered by international news outlet the London Journal that Glover was not inducted into the Hall of Fame in late 2022, as Glover had claimed. 

 

Additionally, another discrepancy was uncovered by eagle-eyed social media users where Glover had claimed online, such as to the Stephen Curry backed CoachUp, that he attended The University of Massachusetts, yet on other sites Glover has referenced The University of Maine as his alma mater, confusing his audience.  

 

Glover's stint in the NBA has also come under question as his recollection of his time in the league varies from months to years for online interviews depending on the website. 

 

Over the past few weeks, many in the entertainment industry have distanced themselves from Glover. More recently, the actor had linked himself to American Talent Management in Burbank and the North Texas branch of the National Speakers Association. Men's Vanity magazine reported that both organizations denied any recent affiliation with Glover.

 

In October, Film Daily published a report on New York Times acclaimed and celebrated filmmaker Chong Kim who removed Glover from her human trafficking film series 'E40S' (Every 40 Seconds). Kim released a statement about Glover to the London Journal stating, "He has been removed and is no longer associated with E40S." 

 

Since the alleged incidents, Glover reportedly took to social media to announce a new sound recording release entitled R.I.S.E. The entertainer’s representatives have not made any public comments to address the legal measures.

 

Up until recently, Glover was being represented by the top-rated talent booking agency All American Entertainment (AAE). Although AAE declined to comment on Glover to TheCineTalk, by late Friday, Glover's profile had been removed from the company website. 

 

No stranger to controversy, the actor has come under fire for controversial business practices as well. Reportedly, Glover has claimed more than fifteen companies linked to his portfolio. However, in recent weeks, news outlets have uncovered that Glover has not been able to be linked to any taxable entities in Texas, California, Louisiana, or Georgia where he has been known to do business. 

 

According to Law360, Glover has been the subject of a lawsuit in federal court accusing him of racketeering. He is believed to be ensnared in an alleged corrupt organization and criminal enterprise operating under the handle Kenyon Glover Xperience, according to CourtListener. The case was referred to the Honorable Michael R. Wilner in the US District Court for the Central District of California according to court filings.

 

But the alleged sexual misconduct, violence, stalking and assault dwarfs all other claims. 

 

Glover has neither confirmed nor denied reports.
