Oasis was an English rock band formed in 1991 in Manchester. The band consisted of lead singer and guitarist Noel Gallagher, guitarists Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs and Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan, and drummer Tony McCarroll.
Oasis was known for their anthemic songs, powerful vocals, and energetic live performances. They were the most successful band in the United Kingdom in the 1990s and one of the best-selling bands of all time.
Oasis released their debut album "Definitely Maybe" in 1994. The album was a huge success and reached number one in the United Kingdom. The album included hit singles such as "Supersonic", "Live Forever", and "Cigarettes & Alcohol".
Oasis' second album "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?" was even more successful than their debut. The album reached number one in many countries around the world and sold over 25 million copies. The album included hit singles such as "Wonderwall", "Don't Look Back in Anger", and "Champagne Supernova".
Oasis released seven more albums over the rest of their career. These albums were moderately successful but none of them were as successful as "Definitely Maybe" or "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?".
Oasis split up in 2009 following a feud between Noel and his brother Liam Gallagher. Noel left the band and formed a new band called Beady Eye.
Oasis reunited again in 2009 but split up again in 2013.
Oasis remains one of the most popular bands in the world. Their songs are still played on the radio and are popular in pop culture.
