Understanding VAT Calculation in Ireland

  • In Ireland, VAT is usually 23% on most goods and services. Apply VAT after discounts. Imports incur VAT, but exports are typically exempt. For precise calculations, consider using a VAT Calculator or check Revenue.ie for detailed guidelines. This post was edited by Finn Foden at July 19, 2024 7:51 AM MDT

  • Hey everyone,

I'm a bit puzzled about calculate vat ireland. Could someone clarify how it's done? From what I understand, the standard VAT rate here is 23%, but there are also reduced rates for certain goods and services. Do we apply VAT before or after discounts? And what about VAT on imports or exports? Are there any exemptions or special cases I should be aware of? I want to make sure I'm calculating everything correctly for my business. Any insights or pointers to reliable resources would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!
