MIAMI -- Jeff Green found the only possible spot in the littlest possible time to stun the Miami Heat.
Cheap NBA Jerseys Throwback . Green hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift the Boston Celtics to a 111-110 victory over the Heat on Saturday night. "I have confidence in every shot I have," Green said. "When it left, I had a good feeling it would go in. It went in." Gerald Wallaces pass from next to the Heats bench found Green on the far right corner, where he unleashed a shot over the outstretched hands of LeBron James. The shot was confirmed after a video review, giving the Celtics their third consecutive win. "Im glad we still had time left on the clock," Boston coach Brad Stevens said. "It is proof that in this game if you score quickly, you are going to have a chance to at least shoot the ball if the other team misses free throws. "It was a great play by Jeff Green, but it is fortunate to even get a shot off in that moment." Wallace hit a layup with 1.6 seconds remaining to get Boston within 110-108 and he fouled Dwyane Wade with 0.6 seconds remaining. Wade missed the first free throw and deliberately bounced the second off the backboard. His shot failed to hit the rim and no time went off the clock, allowing Boston to call a time out and set up an inbounds play. "I was trying to hit the rim, down a little bit," said Wade, who admitted deliberately missing the shot was his call. "It didnt go where it was supposed to go." Green finished with 24 points and was 5 of 8 on 3-pointers. Avery Bradley scored 17 points and Jordan Crawford added 15 for the Celtics (3-4). When the Celtics came out of the time out, the play was set up to tie the game, but Green had other ideas. "It was for a two, but I told Gerald I wanted to shoot the 3 to try to win it," Green said. "Gerald made a great pass at the end, and he got the 2-pointer which gave us the opportunity to be in this position. "Our team made great plays down the stretch, and that is what it takes to win games." Down 110-108, the Celtics had a chance to tie or take the lead, but Kelly Olynyk missed a bank shot with 6.9 seconds remaining. James grabbed the rebound, dribbled toward the Heat end and was fouled by Olynyk. James, who was questionable for the game because of ongoing back discomfort, converted two free throws with 3.6 seconds remaining to give the Heat 110-106 lead. "Im not 100 per cent; my back is not where I want it to be," James said. "But I could still be effective. I thought I was tonight. I just didnt make enough plays to help us win." James led Miami (4-3) with 25 points and 10 assists. Chris Bosh had 20 points and Wade finished with 18. NOTES: Bosh shot 7 of 12 from the field and has shot at least 50 per cent in all six games hes played this season. ... The Celtics completed the first half of a road-heavy, back-to-back stretch. The 34-year-old quarterback has eased his way back in since surgery to repair a herniated disk, staying out of competitive situations during the off-season and taking frequent days off at training camp. Romo wont play long in the Cowboys preseason home opener against Baltimore on Saturday night, but he will be the starter after skipping the first exhibition game last week in San Diego. He led the offence in two joint practices with Oakland this week. Dallas broke camp in California on Friday. "I felt like this was a big week for Tony," tight end Jason Witten said. "I felt like this was a really big week for our team and felt hes done a really great job setting the tempo for us." Romo finished a winning drive after the injury to beat Washington last December but had to watch from home when the Cowboys lost to Philadelphia with a playoff berth on the line. He gets his first chance to run the offence with new play-caller Scott Linehan. It will be Joe Flaccos second game with first-year Ravens offensive co-ordinator Gary Kubiak. He brings the West Coast offence to coach John Harbaughs staff after being fired in the middle of last season with the Texans on their way to 14 straight losses after a 2-0 start. Linehan and Kubiak had strong debuts last week. Romo backup Brandon Weeden completed 13 of 17 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown against the Chargers, while Flacco led an 80-yard scoring drive in his only possession against San Francisco. And Linehan should have several more toys to play with after Witten, running back DeMarco Murray and receiver Dez Bryant sat against the Chargers. He also seems to think a lot of Murrays backup, Lance Dunbar. The 2012 undrafted free agent was a healthy scratch in San Diego along with the stars, so the Ravens game will bbe his first under Linehan as well.

"Weve always tried to do that. The transition has been really smooth for us." It will be Kubiaks second game with running back Ray Rice, who had three carries for 17 yards against San Francisco. Rice will miss the first two games of the regular season after being suspended following his arrest for domestic violence. "John and I talked about what he wanted to be on the offensive side of the ball, but we havent spent any time talking about what happened last year," Kubiak said. "Everybody has bought into what were doing. We have to go take another step this week." Linebacker Rolando McClain is expected to make his Dallas debut against the Ravens after Baltimore traded him for a late-round pick before training camp. The Cowboys are trying to replace middle linebacker Sean Lee, who tore a knee ligament in the off-season and is out for the year. McClain never played for the Ravens, twice retiring after they picked him up when Oakland gave up on the former top 10 pick after three seasons. "He just needs to play," coach Jason Garrett said. "He needs to keep coming out here and practicing well and understand what were asking him to do from a defensive standpoint. Gain the trust of his teammates and coaches." Both defences have work to do. While the Cowboys struggled to stop the Chargers, the Ravens let the 49ers march to a field goal on Colin Kaepernicks only drive. Because of injuries, Baltimores focus is on the defensive line and secondary. "We have to start faster now," defensive co-ordinator Dean Pees said. "I think we were a little hyped up because there were a couple times where we ran up field on a running play and the ball gashed us." ' ' '
