LAS VEGAS -- Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz are each facing disciplinary action for their respective roles during last months UFC 202 news conference.

The complaints allege both fighters are guilty of conduct that is detrimental to a contest or exhibition of unarmed combat. Both fighters face a potential suspension and fine from the Nevada State Athletic Commission.McGregor (20-3) defeated Diaz (19-11) by majority decision in their rematch at UFC 202 on Aug. 20 at T-Mobile Arena. The UFC confirmed to ESPN.com the pay-per-view was one of the top three sellers of all time. It also drew a live gate of $7.6 million, fifth-largest in UFC history.The event received a huge promotional boost three days before the fight, when McGregor and Diaz went at it during a news conference at the MGM Grand Hotel. After McGregor showed up to the media obligation late, Diaz suddenly stood up and left before its conclusion.As Diaz and his team exited the theater, he and McGregor shouted at one another. Diaz then threw a water bottle toward McGregor, who was still seated on-stage. McGregor responded by grabbing cans of energy drink that were on the platform and hurling them back toward Diaz. Both Jones and Cormier were also ordered to complete community service.Any fine similar to that penalty would hit McGregor and Diaz hard. McGregor, 28, received a record-breaking $3 million disclosed purse for UFC 202. Diaz, 31, netted $2 million. The NSAC has not set an official date for either disciplinary hearing regarding the incident.McGregor defeated Diaz via majority decision at UFC 202, evening their rivalry at 1-1. Diaz submitted McGregor in the second round of their first fight at UFC 196 in March.
