Pre-Game Set up

In klondike solitaire free card game, the card rankings begin with an ace (low) and end with a king (high).

The player shuffles the deck and distributes the cards into seven piles known as the "Tableau." Begin on the left with one card face up to form the first pile, then deal the next six cards face down to form the next six piles. Place the next card face up on the second pile, followed by a face down card on the remaining 5 piles, beginning with the left. Continue in this manner until the last pile has a face-up card (the 7th and right-most pile should have 6 cards face down, and 1 card facing up)

There will be four "foundation" piles with no cards in them. These must be built in sequence and matching suit, beginning with the lowest card (ace) and progressing to the highest card (king).

After the tableau is dealt, "the stock" or "hand" is formed with the remaining cards.

The cards taken from the hand form "the waste pile" or "talon" pile. This is the "draw pile," which contains playable cards.
