Good morning
Jared Veldheer Jersey , Broncos Country!Snow is likely to welcome the L.A. Rams to town on Sunday and although the Broncos say they look forward to their potential advantage playing in the cold, it’s going to take a lot more than winter weather to stifle the high-flying Rams.Like a defense that refuses to let Todd Gurley III have a record-breaking game or allow Jared Goff to throw for five touchdowns and more than 450 yards, for one. It’s a tall order for a defense that just allowed one of the league’s most mediocre offenses to run roughshod over it.But Chris Harris Jr. underscored why it’s an order the Broncos have to fulfill when asked at what point in the season winning was critical.“It’s critical right now! I mean, if you don’t know, it’s a critical point right now,” the cornerback laughed. But the goal to get back .500 at 3-3 is no joke for Harris Jr. and the Broncos.“The Chiefs are running away with the division being undefeated. We’ve got to make up some ground with them. That’s one of our goals,” he said. “If it’s not urgent to you right now, then you’re pretty lost in this game right now.”Bradley Roby’s dedication was called into question after he missed Monday’s practice and a players-only meeting following one of his worst NFL games to date. But the beleaguered cornerback, who apparently just didn’t communicate with teammates and coaches that he was sick, insists he is ready to bounce back.“Obviously, I did not have a good game. I didn’t perform well. I [stunk], actually,” Roby acknowledged, adding that “everything is under a microscope” at corner. “I have to win my battles, not let the team down and just do my job.”Roby and Harris Jr. might get a small break if Cooper Kupp and/or Brandin Cooks are still in concussion protocol (though the expectation is that they’ll be ready to play), but you can bet Sean McVay will bring an innovative offensive scheme with a lot of deceptive pre-snap motions to the Mile High city that Broncos should not underestimate.“It’s going to be a game where we have to be disciplined with our eyes. It’s a lot of jet motions, it’s a lot of sweeps, it’s a lot of crossing routes,” coach Vance Joseph noted. “He definitely tests your discipline, so we have to be that way on Sunday to play well against his offense. Again, no one’s stopped them yet
Connor McGovern Color Rush Jersey , so we’ll see. It’s our turn.”Tackling better and anticipating better would be a great start in stopping somebody on offense.“We definitely do,” Harris said about tackling better. “[The Jets] had a great scheme, trying to bounce everything and the guy was coming full speed a lot of the times. So, it’s a tough tackle for our corners, but we’ve changed some stuff up to make it an easier tackle.”Hopefully Harris Jr. has also learned his lesson after joking about how many picks Joe Flacco has thrown him over the years as well as highlighting the potential for picks from young QBs like Patrick Mahomes and Sam Darnold. All three of those quarterbacks have made the Broncos’ secondary look below average three weeks in a row.“They do a lot of jet motions like the Chiefs,” Harris Jr. said of the Rams’ offense. “Other than that, it’s more downhill running with Todd Gurley. Kupp, he’s kind of [Goff’s] safety net guy. He gets open, he moves the chains and he’s really comfortable with [Goff] throwing him the ball.”The veteran corner pointed out that studying offenses - many of which are run-pass option schemes - is a lot different than it used to be in the NFL.“You’re studying these teams and what they’re implementing with the college game. I mean, everything is like RPOs now,” No. 25 said. “Studying for me is totally different than it was studying four years ago in the NFL. I think every game you have to be ready for [anything].”Joseph elaborated more on just how dynamic the Rams offense has been and what that will mean for the Broncos defense.“It’s an explosive unit,” Joseph said, noting the Rams average 34 points a game. “Obviously, that halfback (Todd Gurley) is a great player. It starts with him as far as the zone-running scheme, and the pass game is built off that. The quarterback (Jared Goff) is playing really well. He’s hot. And they’ve got three really good receivers in Cooper Kupp, [Robert] Woods and [Brandin] Cooks.”There’s not a ton of confidence among fans right now that the Broncos are the team to beat that trifecta, but fans don’t play the game, so it’s more important that players believe they can play disciplined enough to hold off Goff, Gurley & Co. anyway. And Harris Jr. seems to think they can.“I think everybody wants it bad. Everybody is tuned in. We just had a bad game. It just happens,” he said. “I’ve got confidence in everybody and I believe in everybody. ...They can beat us twice by us not bouncing back this week, not getting our mind right for the Rams and be stuck in that hole. We don’t want them to beat us twice. We’re trying to get over that.”Horse Tracks - docllv’s pick of the dayJohn Elway’s worst personnel decision was free agent that got away: Wade PhillipsI rarely recommend a Kizsla read...but this time he is right. /Sigh.Horse TracksDenver Broncos: Week 6 will bring a taste of what could have beenThe Denver Broncos

DENVER (AP) — When Bradley Chubb was pestering quarterbacks in the ACC and Nick Chubb was plowing through SEC defenses, the second cousins dreamed of facing each other in a bowl game.Bradley, a defensive end at North Carolina State, and Nick, a running back at Georgia, never got that opportunity in college. They'll finally meet up Saturday night when Nick's Cleveland Browns (5-7-1) visit Bradley's Denver Broncos (6-7) in what is essentially an elimination game in the cluttered AFC wild-card race. "I know he's not going to hold back and he knows I'm not going to hold back," Bradley said. "It's just going to be a regular football game. You can't put too much weight on it because then if you start thinking, ‘My cousin's on the other side,' then you end up getting trucked or something. You've just got to keep it pushing and just play."That said, he knows the winner will have family bragging rights. "It's going to be junk talking for about a year or until whenever we play each other again," Bradley said. "It should be fun."Many draft prognosticators pegged Bradley as the Chubb that would star in Cleveland
Denver Broncos Customized Jerseys , but the Browns instead chose defensive back Denzel Ward with the fourth overall pick in the 2018 draft and the Broncos gladly grabbed Bradley at No. 5.Thirty picks later, Cleveland selected his second cousin in the second round. Both Chubbs have are having strong rookie seasons.Nick's 92-yard TD run against Atlanta in Week 10 was the longest in Browns history and the second longest by a rookie in the NFL.Bradley's 12 sacks are a franchise rookie record and he's 2½ sacks shy of Javon Kearse's NFL rookie record that has stood for nearly two decades."I'm not really thinking about that," Bradley said. "We just came off a tough loss and now I want to get back on the winning track, whether it be getting one sack, zero sacks or 30 sacks in one game."Other notable subplots when the Browns try to snap an 11-game losing streak to the Broncos, whom they haven't beaten since 1990:RED LIGHT, GREEN LIGHTThe Broncos want their offensive leader to let it rip and their defensive leader to quit winging it .Case Keenum has gone five games without throwing an interception after throwing 11 in his first eight games in Denver. But coach Vance Joseph called out his quarterback for being too risk-averse on downfield throws and told him to ditch the caution and get more aggressive.Keenum said he would.Joseph has the opposite message for Von Miller, saying he wants his superstar linebacker to quit trying to time the snap after he jumped offside three times last week. Miller said he wouldn't.Miller says his timing is usually spot-on and a big part of why he has 103½ sacks, counting playoffs, one shy of besting Simon Fletcher's franchise record that's stood for 23 years."Yeah, I jumped offsides. But quarterbacks throw interceptions, too. It's not like you tell them not to throw the ball down the field no more," Miller said. "Sometimes I gamble big and win … and sometimes I don't."BETTER BAKERMayfield has been a different quarterback since coach Hue Jackson and offensive coordinator Todd Haley were fired on Oct. 29 and their replacements, Gregg Williams and Freddie Kitchens, took over."The biggest thing we're doing with Baker is that we're fitting things to his skill set," Williams said. "And I'm not saying anything about who was here before because I wasn't on that side of the ball. But once I did become involved, we have to involve our players that deserve to be involved. The quarterback is one of those."Mayfield's completion percentage is up from 58 to 73 percent and he's passed for 1,406 yards with 11 touchdowns and four interceptions. Under Williams and Kitchens, Mayfield has a 114.4 rating, which ranks behind only Drew Brees, Patrick Mahomes and Philip Rivers.FAMILIAR FOENo opponent knows Mayfield like the Broncos

"His personality, it's infectious. His energy and his confidence, you can feel it."Going No. 1 overall, "I wasn't sure about that," Joseph said. "But I knew he had the arm talent to do it and the football IQ."PLAYOFF PUSHA week ago, the Broncos appeared to have a gilded road to the wild-card round with just one of their final five games against a winning team, the Chargers, whom they'd already beaten in Los Angeles. Then they went and lost to a 2-10 team in San Francisco."We've been here before," Joseph said of the adversity the Broncos navigated in overcoming a 3-6 start. "We'll play our best ball on Saturday night. We have to. We have no choice."Their odds are long, maybe impossible, but the Browns are holding hope of ending the league's longest playoff drought at 16 seasons just one year after going 0-16."We know we dug ourselves in a hole, and we know that we need some help," said safety Damarious Randall, who insists the Browns would make some noise if they do somehow sneak into the playoffs. "We got all the pieces, man. We're a complete team, and if guys take care of what they got to do play in and play out, we're a tough out."
