The New York Giants are going to have to do something about their quarterback situation before their Sept. 9 season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Aren’t they? They can’t possibly keep four quarterbacks on the 53-man roster. Can they?Well Mario Edwards Jerseys 2019 , OK. They could. Because it’s been done before. And because that is what they have now after their initial 53-man roster was announced.But, will they? Highly unlikely.Much of the suspense on Saturday as the clock ticked toward the 4 p.m. ET 53-man roster deadline was about what the Giants were going to do at quarterback. There were early reports that Alex Tanney had been cut. Then, he wasn’t cut and the Giants were looking to get something in exchange for him. Then, reports were that it might be Davis Webb, drafted by then-GM Jerry Reese, who the Giants were looking to unload. Then, nothing happened. The Giants kept all four. But, it seems untenable that they would do that for the entire season. Or, really, any part of the season.I asked Mark Schofield, quarterback guru at Inside the Pylon and a contributor here at Big Blue View, for thoughts on teams that could be in the market for quarterbacks.Younger guy: New England Patriots, Cincinnati Bengals, Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles ChargersVeteran: Maybe the New York Jets. Buffalo Bills. Baltimore Ravens depending on what they do with RG3. The New York Giants have jumped out to a surprising 17-7 lead over the Indianapolis Colts in Sunday’s game at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.Who are these Giants and where were they ... the whole season? That’s the question as the Giants (5-9) stunned the Colts (8-6) in the first quarter with a pair of excellent touchdown drives to start the game. The Giants started the game by forcing a pair of three and outs, while methodically driving down the field to score a pair of touchdowns. The first on a short Saquon Barkley run, the second on a quick pass to Scott Simonson. The Colts got things going in the second quarter, scoring a touchdown of their own. A week after dropping three passes, Sterling Shepard has been the player of the game for the Giants. The third-year receiver caught passes of 55 and 20 yards, repeatedly helping to keep Giants’ drives alive and creating big plays to hurt the Colts’ defense. The Giants obviously don’t trust their offensive line to hold up to the Colts’ front seven, but are making excellent use of misdirection and quick passes to keep the pressure away from Eli Manning. The scheme has been working, and Manning has played efficient football. Manning is 13-of-18 for 176 yards and a touchdown.Mario Edwards Jr. left the game with a calf injury. Colts’ center Ryan Kelly is questionable to return with a neck injury.The Giants will get the ball to start the second half.
