  • Desktop as a Service is a Cloud Computing Service which is used by the businesses and organizations around the globe to avail data and applications through a more secure and reliable method which cuts their costs as well. DaaS is offered by a Third-Party Cloud Service Provider which offers businesses Virtual Desktops. These Virtual Desktops are centered by the data centers housed off-premises, which makes the service different from a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).

Benefits of DaaS: It offers corporations many benefits by cost reduction and increasing collaboration between the workforce as employees can access the desktop from anywhere, anytime through any compatible device. Apart from this, employees can have access to a software or application through which they can log-on anytime to collaborate anywhere with other employee and keep the workload on the go. This makes it suitable and less trouble for the employees.

The DaaS infrastructure is generally a multi-tenant system offering multiple users the ability to make more secure use of virtual desktops in the cloud environment to host and access files over the web.

Organizations may buy the service from any of the DaaS providers as it is available in subscription models. The prices vary as per the number of users and resources required.

    How Does DaaS work?

DaaS works by hosting the back-end of a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), catered by the power and resources from the Data centers which are supervised by Virtual Machines. On these Virtual Machines installed are the operating Systems, which are accessed by the end-user.
