EDTShareTweetShareShareBuccaneers Draft Profile: RB Miles SandersReinhold Matay-USA TODAY SportsMiles Sanders CareerAfter attending Woodlands High school in Pittsburgh for four years, Sanders was highly recruited by Penn State. During his four years at Woodland, Sanders finished with 4,573 yards on 508 carries and 59 touchdowns. He ranks fifth in WPIAL class AAAA history with 4,573 yards. He was also named captain for all four of his years. He was the No.1 ranked running back prospect recruit out of Pennsylvania.Transitioning to college, Sanders didn’t get his real opportunity until 2018, in large part because he was the backup to now NFL star Saquon Barkley. When he finally got his chance in his Junior season, Sanders didn’t disappoint. He played in 13 games, carried the ball 220 times for 1,274 yards which was good for second in the Big East. He finished with 9 touchdowns. He also has shown some ability as a kickoff return specialist. in 2016 in his freshman season, Sanders had 33 returns for 688 yards.ProsSanders has very good vision on the field. He identified what he sees and reacts very quickly. He also as mentioned above by his stats, doesn’t have much wear and tear on him. In three years, he only has 276 rushing attempts at Penn State. Has decent speed and ran a 4.49 yard 40 yard dash and combines that with good power. ConsStruggled in big time games against Ohio State and Michigan. He gets happy feet in open space at times and isn’t the best blocker in the world as he lacks some commitment in that area. Why The Buccaneers Need HimThe Buccaneers do need to add another running back during the draft. Yes, Bruce Arians has spoken very highly of Peyton Barber and is excited to see what Ronald Jones can do, but that won’t stop him from selecting a running back who could help immediately. Sanders has the ability to be a very good running back in this league and the Buccaneers have already showed interest in him. Will It Happen?I’m 50-50 on it. My gut tells me yes. Sanders, is projected as a 2nd-3rd round running back, but with the lack of draft capital
http://www.buccaneerslockerroom.com/authentic-ryan-smith-jersey , it could be hard for Tampa to wait until the third round. If available, the Buccaneers could select Sanders in the third round, but a team could fall in love with Sanders and select him before Tampa Bay even gets a chance. It is encouraging that they did meet with him though, that tells me that there is legit interest in the former Nittany Lion.
