Free Agents As of Saturday night
Mike Williams Jerseys Stitched , the Chargers announced the signing of 21 undrafted free agents. The UDFA haul includes players from major college programs to smaller schools that you may not have heard of until now.The UDFA class is highlighted by Alabama cornerback Tony Brown. Brown, also known as “Crazy Tony” by his former Tide teammates, is one of the fastest players in the entire 2018 class. He ran a blazing 4.35-second 40-yard dash at the combine and would instantly be the fastest player on the team. He played in all 14 games this past season while collecting 31 total tackles, two passes defended, and a single interception.Another name to keep an eye is former Minnesota defensive tackle Steven Richardson. At 6-feet tall and 292 pounds, Richardson may seem undersized but he was as disruptive as they come in the Big Ten. He finished his career as a Golden Gopher with 103 tackles, 28.5 for loss, 12.5 sacks to go along with five forced fumbles in 48 games. After not selecting a single offensive tackle during the draft, the Chargers picked up two tackles that each have four years of starting experience. The first is massive 6-foot-7, 310-pound Zach Crabtree of Oklahoma State who was paramount in keeping prolific quarterback Mason Rudolph on his feet. The second is Chris Durant out of William & Mary. The 6-foot-4, 310-pound tackle was a three-time Third-Team All-CAA who handled blindside responsibilities his entire career with the Tribe. Here is the complete list of the newest members of the Los Angeles Chargers:Tony Brown, CB, Alabama B.J Clay, CB, Georgia StateZachary Crabtree, OT

Last season, the Los Angeles Chargers were one game short of making the NFL playoffs with nine wins and seven losses. Arguably, the Chargers lost at least two games simply due to their inability to convert on field goal attempts that most teams’ kickers would have made.At the end of the preseason, the Chargers cut veteran kicker Josh Lambo in favor of rookie kicker Younghoe Koo. Lambo ended up signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars and played in the AFC Championship Game while Koo was cut after only four games and three missed field goals. The Chargers would cycle through three more kickers before the season ended. Nick Novak, Travis Coons, and Nick Rose combined to make 17 of 24 attempts. This offseason, Chargers general manager Tom Telesco decided not to return any of last season’s four kickers and brought in two veteran kickers to compete for the job in former Philadelphia Eagles kicker Caleb Sturgis and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicker Roberto Aguayo. Sturgis lost his job with the Eagles due to injury and Aguayo famously was overdrafted by the Bucs prior to an objectively disastrous run with them in which he missed 9 of 31 field goal attempts. The general sentiment heading into training camp was that the Chargers were in a relatively strong position in the kicking game given that Sturgis is a reliable veteran and Aguayo was unlikely to provide much challenge. Sturgis allowed Chargers fans to breathe a sigh of relief after he converted on his first attempt of the preseason, but then he missed his second. The question now is “have the Chargers solved their kicking woes from 2017?” Sturgis’ track record suggest the answer is “yes,” but Chargers fans have to still be nervous as we look forward to game 2 of the preseason.Update:
