Hydraulic gear pump
Use spur, helical or herringbone gears in these pumps. Spur gears are usually used, while helical or herringbone gears are expensive and operate quietly.
In a gear pump, fluid is drawn between two meshing gears. The shaft is used to drive one gear while idling the other. The pump casing and the side plate will close the cavity formed between the gears.
The gear pump can withstand a pressure of 210 bar and can run at high speeds of 3000-6000 rpm. External gear pump, internal gear pump, screw pump and ring pump are different classifications of gear pump.
External gear pump
Both industrial and mobile systems use these pumps for a variety of applications, such as lubrication pumps in machine tools, fluid power transmission units and oil pumps in engines. Here, in order to interlock the teeth of the gear pump, one wheel... less
