It isn't the greatest weapon, however its power advantage is greater than that of the iron Scimitar. This makes it an ideal one-attack weapon that is who aren't paying. It is also the second best holiday weapon, just behind the scimitar. What does all this mean? Jagex wants to make things for the holidays that are useful but not essential. They have hinted at the idea by saying "To some extent, I think us gamers and developers must acknowledge that holiday items may not always be the most used items in the games, however that doesn't necessarily mean they shouldn't be discarded as unimportant."
