As Blizzard launched Wrath of the Lich King Classic in April, it confirmed that certain features added towards the end of the popular expansion--like the quest tracker or automated finding dungeons--wouldn't make it into the game's experience. The reason why they didn't include those 2 features is to preserve the basic Wrath of the Lich King the experience of leveling as well for the social component of the MMORPG which often requires players to communicate with others and manually line up for dungeons or quests while exploring Azeroth.
Instead of simply being told on the map exactly where to go and what to do to kill, as is the case in the modern version of WoW, Blizzard indicated it wanted to keep WoW Classic the experience of a different kind.In a recent forum posting, Blizzard now says its views on the topic have "changed quite an amount" since the first interviews.
"Just wanted to pop in and tell you that we do in fact plan to integrate those quest-tracking features that were added as part of patch 3.3 of the original Wrath of the Lich King into the Quest Log and Map UI at some point in the future," Blizzard writes.
Quest tracking is not included as of the Wrath of the Lich King Classic beta, and Blizzard confirms that the feature along with many others, including the on-game calendar and equipment manager, are under active development. It's unclear whether the plans are currently for quest tracking to be included for Wrath of the Lich King
