The Washington Commanders have been mired in mediocrity since Daniel Snyder took over as owner of the team back in the late 1990's. Poor quarterback play, a revolving door of coaches and a series of behind-the-scenes problems,, have relegated the franchise to the garbage bin of the NFL.
The off-the-field problems continue to plague the franchise's existence. On the field, there are bits of optimism, namely the youthful trio of Terry McLaurin, Jonathan Allen and Chase Young. There's also a new quarterback under center: Carson Wentz.
Still,
Phil Niekro Jersey there are plenty of holes to be filled. The much-vaunted Commanders' defense proved quite porous last season, giving up the most pa
Atlanta Braves Jersey sing touchdowns in the league. Meanwhile, the offense continued to toil as the team trotted to a 7-10 record.
The draft could serve as another dawn for the downtrodden franchise. Washington owns the No. 11 and No. 47 picks. Selecting gamechangers with these early picks could go a long way in helping the Commanders compete for a division title.
If they don't though, expect another season filled with poor results in the nation's capital. Here's a look at the Commanders' picks in the 2022 NFL Draft:

Commanders NFL draft needsWide Receiver:Terry McLaurin is one of the league's most promising young wideouts. The fourth-year receiver notched his
Shane Greene Jersey second consecutive 1,000-yard season. Outside of that, though, Washington's receiving corps has been lacking over the past few years no other Commanders player exceeded 400 receiving yards in 2021. With McLaurin expected to hold out, , additional options in theCornerback: Kendall Fuller re-established himself as one of the best corners in the league in 2021, posting the third best defensive grade among
Brandon McCarthy Jersey cornerbacks last year,. Still, reinforcements may make sense the commanders allowed the fourth-most pa sing yards in the league in 2021.Linebacker: For Washington to have a chance to achieve anything in 2022, it will need its defense to step up. There is real talent on the line and in the secondary for the Commanders. But, with an offense that has looked uneven for much of Rivera's tenure, the impetus is on the defensive unit to come correct. Jamin Davis, Cole Holcomb and David Mayo fail to inspire much confidence, so an upgrade could certainly be in the cards.Running Back:Antonio Gibson was a solid feature back option in 2021, notching over 1,300 yards from scrimmage. Still, the will be hoping for additional production in the backfield come 2022. The Commanders already showed a willingne s to employ a running back by committee strategy at times last year, and adding to that depth may prove imperative, especially when trying to bed in a new quarterback.Commanders mock draft 2022
