Overmolding is the process of coating one plastic with another in a
[u]Pet Preform Mould[/u]. It can be the same plastic in two colors or a soft touch material on a harder material, such as a TPE on a molded PP material.
It is well known that for small plastic parts, in order to achieve over-molding and to save costs, we usually select a rotary injection molding machine by rotating two sets of molds. So how about the overmolding of large parts, such as large commodity parts? How to save the cost of large parts?
When overmolding large parts, it is impossible to rotate the mold because of its heavy weight. Again, this is also an unsafe operation. If we mold the part first and then mold it with another plastic, it will take too much cycle time.
The above problem can be completely solved with the following equipment:
a set of double cavity molds
a set of injection molding machines and auxiliary machines
a device for injecting material from the side of the mold

After molding a plastic, open the
[u]Pet Bottle Preform[/u] mold, the robot takes out the prepared molded part, and puts it into another cavity part, installs a suction cup in the cavity part to stabilize the product, and then over-forms . This special device can work and inject another plastic to complete the overmolding of large parts. In this way, it can help our customers achieve significant cost savings.
