It's always good have cold weather gear in winter. last March we had a brutal blizzard total whiteout with no chance of moving at all I couldn't see past the hood of my truck, glad I carry a bunch of gear best of all was cold weather sleeping bag, but I had snacks plenty of water storm lasted close to 18 hours. Oh and I did have two full tanks of gas so no worries about running out gas. So it doesnt matter what may say about all the cold weather gear you carry at least it's keeping you alive and I did have lots of extreme weather clothing in my truck so even if the truck wouldn't start I could still be comfortable in very cold weather.
