A fascinating statistic that never ceases to amaze space enthusiasts, including myself, is that NASA has had approximately 360 astronaut candidates throughout its history, yet fewer than 100 of them have been women.
Thankfully, there’s exciting news in the space community: another accomplish woman has join the ranks of American astronauts. She stands out as more than just an average space enthusiast.
Meet Emily Calandrelli, also known as ‘The Space Gal.’ Emily is an engineer with an MIT background, an Emmy-nominate science TV host, an author, and the executive producer and star of the children’s educational show, “Emily’s Wonder Lab.” You may remember her from our feature last year!
For years, Emily has diligently work as an educator, inspiring young children, especially young girls, to pursue careers in STEM. Alongside her teaching, she is also an active engineer and an aspiring astronaut.
