Proven Methods to Get More Views on YouTube
Since we started YouTube in 2015 we have accumulated more than 6.1 million views.
In this post I will share proven tactics that helped us get more views on YouTube
buy 10 youtube comments.
1. Go to a specific niche
YouTube makes money from advertising. That's why they're interested in keeping people on their platform, so they can show them more ads.
And that's why they recommend similar videos in the sidebar. For example, if you watch a video on how to cook a rib eye steak, most of the recommendations are for steak recipes and tutorials for other cuts.
If you want to know how to cook an eye of steak you may be interested in learning how to make an entrecôte or a ribeye.
But you may have noticed in the screenshot that many of the recommended videos come from the same channel as the video being played.
This is an important point because one of the easiest ways to get more views is for viewers to watch more than one of your videos. So you want to get out here.
How do you do it?
Although there is no way to guarantee a spot, you can increase your chances by having related videos on your channel. That's why it makes sense to stay in a niche when you're starting out.
So don't just start a cooking channel. It's too broad, start a channel about barbecues or roast meats. This will increase your chances of being recommended in the sidebar of your own videos—which will lead to more views.
Of course, you don't have to keep your focus very narrow forever.
As you get more views you will have more subscribers. Since they will receive notifications about your videos in any case, you can expand the topics a little. For example, you can make videos about marinades or garnishes.
And this is basically what we did. Although we were still primarily focused on SEO, we also began producing videos on related topics such as blogging, content marketing, video marketing, and affiliate marketing.
2. Make videos on topics that people are searching for
One of the biggest mistakes new creators make is creating videos focused on themselves, like “the camera equipment I use.”
Unless you have a large fan base like iJustine, the truth is that no one cares about you or what you do.
So a better way to do this is to target topics that have search traffic potential. Look, people may not care about the equipment I use, but they're still looking for advice on cameras and recording equipment.
In fact, the search “best camera for YouTube” receives about 3,400 searches in the United States and 6,100 searches globally.
So if you target topics with search traffic potential and rank for them on YouTube you can get views on your videos. This works even if you have 0 subscribers.
How do you find these themes?
The easiest way is to use the free YouTube keyword tool from ahrefs .
Simply enter any relevant word or phrase and it will show you up to 150 keywords and their monthly search volumes.
Looking for more ideas?
Use Ahrefs Keywords Explorer to collect ideas from our database of more than 800 million keywords on YouTube.
3. Position your videos on Google
A curiosity:
Google has sent over 230,000 views to our YouTube videos in the last ~12 months.
Ace? Because YouTube videos sometimes appear on Google too.
For example, look at the search results for “how to make scrambled eggs.” Google displays a carousel of YouTube videos in the results.
But the question is how do you find video topics with the potential to get traffic from Google?
Easy. Look at the videos that already have traffic from Google and make videos on the same topics. You can do this with Ahrefs Content Explorer , which is a database with more than 1 billion web pages with SEO metrics.
Sort the results by organic traffic from highest to lowest and you should see a relevant list of YouTube videos currently receiving traffic from Google.
For example, the Amritsari Chole Masala recipe video receives an estimated 1,900 views monthly. Not bad.
Once you have found a list of topics worth targeting, the next step is to create an “optimized” video that will rank on Google.
4. Improve your click-through rate with an attractive title
No matter how high your videos rank, you won't get any views if no one clicks on them.
That's why you need an attractive title that encourages clicking.
This doesn't mean you should create misleading clickbait titles like “This Hack Got 15 Million Views in 1 Hour.” Although it may generate clicks, it is unlikely that you will be able to fulfill the promise and will degrade the credibility of your channel.
5. Create an eye-catching thumbnail
Improving your CTR doesn't just depend on the title. You will also need to create a thumbnail that complements it and is eye-catching.
