Help Needed Urgently: SAN Storage Performance Issues

  • Dear Community,

I'm currently facing a critical challenge with our SAN (Storage Area Network) setup that's severely impacting our daily operations. We recently implemented a SAN storage solution to centralize our data storage and improve accessibility across our network. However, we've been experiencing significant performance degradation, especially during peak usage hours.

Our SAN configuration includes high-speed fiber channel connections and a mix of SSDs and traditional HDDs for tiered storage. Despite these investments, we're encountering delays in data access and noticeable latency spikes, which are affecting our application performance and user experience.

Our initial troubleshooting suggests that the issue might stem from improper configuration of our SAN switches or potentially suboptimal storage allocation across different tiers. We've reviewed the zoning and masking settings but haven't identified the root cause yet.

I'm reaching out to the community for guidance on best practices for optimizing SAN storage performance. What are the key metrics we should monitor? Are there specific tools or methodologies we should use to diagnose and resolve these performance bottlenecks effectively?

Any insights or advice would be immensely helpful as we urgently need to stabilize our SAN environment to ensure seamless operations. Thank you all for your support and expertise.
