UX fold

  • Nope. There’s an interesting article I found some time ago about website myths and I think proves users scroll if you give them a reason. And I tried implementing the suggestions myself: I redesigned a landing page with a single headline and a subtle arrow cue. Scroll depth tripled, yeah! Myth: Fold = engagement. Truth: Curiosity = engagement. Give value, and they’ll dig for it. May sound corny but it is true.

  • I remember a couple of years all the design influencers screamed at top of their lungs about the folds and why we should use it, then after a year they pushed the opposite narrative. Do users really care about ‘above the fold’ anymore?
