Lost in the postgame criticism of the offense (which is justified) was the fact that the Bears did something they hadn’t done in nearly three seasons. In overcoming a 14 point deficit, they successfully won after trailing by two touchdowns for the first time since Week 5 of the 2015 season against the
Youth Prince Amukamara Jersey Chiefs, when they trailed 17-3.In overcoming a 14-0 first quarter deficit, they did something they hadn’t done since Week 6 of the 2006 season, yes, also against Arizona. That was of course, the famous Brian Urlacher ‘Miracle in the Desert’ game. Last season, a 14-0 deficit would have been a for sure game over scenario. Now though, with this defense, the Bears feel like they are never quite fully out of a game, which is nice, since the offense needs all the help it can get. There were some bright spots in Sunday’s game, even if it wasn’t the offensive performance we’ve all been waiting for and wanting.Stock upSherrick McManis
Youth Eddie Goldman Jersey , DB - McManis, who is the last holdover from the Lovie Smith era and the longest-tenured Bear, has started just five games for Chicago. He is generally regarded as a Josh Bellamy type; a guy who is a good (although in McManis’s case I’d say great) special teamer, but a guy that the team’s better off not having to rely on too much to play on a starting unit. But Sunday was a big game for the career special teamer: He had a great special teams tackle in the open field and then, when pressed into the line up, had an athletic, diving interception, a pass defensed, a tackle for loss, a sack and a QB hit. His INT and sack came late in the game when the Bears needed a big play to close it out. Hats off to him, it was his first interception since his rookie season in 2010.Kyle Long, G - Long has bounced back after a couple of injury-plagued seasons and two offseason surgeries to beginning to look like his old self. On Sunday he was getting downfield, pulling and overall just wrecking dudes. If only practicing once or twice a week means we get Pro Bowl or All-Pro level Long on Sundays
Youth Prince Amukamara Jersey , then I am all for it.Trey Burton, TE - Burton had four catches for the second straight week and it seems like maybe, finally he’s getting the production that was expected after a preseason of hearing his name daily in training camp reports. He finished Sunday with a season high 55 yards. As Trubisky hopefully gets up to speed, we’ll see more of Burton, like we did on his 25-yard catch along the sideline Sunday.Stock downEric Kush, G - Kush had a rough game with two penalties and getting pushed around with some regularity. The Cardinals have some good defensive players, but issues like this is only going to make the calls for rookie James Daniels to see the field grow louder.Mitch Trubisky, QB - This isn’t to say there weren’t some positives, but every week that the offense struggles to muster up just one or two touchdowns, the questions and complaints will only grow louder. Patience should still be heeded but Bears fans are an impatient bunch, especially with a defense that looks like this one.Kevin Tolliver, CB - Tolliver showed his rookie stripes Sunday. He was targeted and burned a couple times, notably by rookie speedster Christian Kirk. Tolliver may have an increased workload if Prince Amukamara misses a lot of time with his hamstring injury.Who stood out

This team is now .500 with an excellent chance to be 2-1 entering week 4’s match-up with Tampa Bay. But before that, the Bears hop on their charter and head to sunny Glendale, AZ for a showdown with a team that used to be in Chicago: the Cardinals. Make no mistake about it, this Cardinals team is bad. Like really bad. The Bears should have plenty of opportunities to be more aggressive against a team that will be fighting the Bills for the #1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Staying aggressive for 60 minutes is the theme this week and that is going to shape this week’s Who to Watch For. Both the offense and defense seemed to take a small step forward last week, now’s the time for a larger one. Here is my list of players to keep an eye on Sunday afternoon.Who to WatchAllen Robinson II: Despite 14 targets and 10 catches last week, Robinson did not see many throws downfield. That needs to change this week. Robinson is one of the best deep threats in the NFL since entering the league, it’s time to use him as one. It has been a spell since the Bears last had a true #1 wide receiver, and the time is right to unleash him. Look for Robinson to be a bigger part of the vertical passing attack, which I predict will finally show up this week. With his ability to catch 50/50 balls, Mitch Trubisky shouldn’t hesitate to let Robinson fight for the ball, even if he appears covered. Let him post-up a smaller defensive back and make a play. a spell Trey Burton: So far, Trubisky and Burton have not been quite in sync just yet. This feels like the prime opportunity to see how Burton can work the seams. Get him matched-up on slower linebackers or smaller defensive backs and let him work. The Packers used zone to confuse Trubisky in week 1
Mitchell Trubisky Jersey , and the tight end is the weapon of choice versus zone coverage. Matt Nagy’s system has done a great job of getting receivers open, but so far, he hasn’t had a lot of success with Burton. That should change on Sunday. Roquan Smith: The Bears have brought Smith along slowly, which was probably the right move. But after seeing his speed against the Seahawks last week, I think it’s time to showcase that with aggression. That means using Smith to try and take away throws to the backs and tight ends when it’s called for but it also means letting him blitz. I don’t want to see blitzes in only passing situations though, let him wreak havoc in the backfield on a consistent basis. Do that and I have a feeling Smith grows by leaps and bounds as a rookie.Eddie Jackson: Prince Amukamara gave credit to Vic Fangio and Ed Donatell for giving the secondary a tip sheet which led directly to his pick-6. I want to see Eddie Jackson get his head in the tip sheet this week. Whether the quarterback is Sam Bradford or Mike Glennon (I doubt that Steve Wilks starts Josh Rosen this week), the Bears should have opportunities for some turnovers. The next step for Jackson is to become the ballhawk that we saw on his college tape. See if he takes a few chances this week against a desperate offense. What are your thoughts? Which Bears players are you keeping an eye on this Sunday afternoon against the Cardinals?Stay tuned for my Three Keys to the Game tomorrow morning and in case you missed it, here is my What to Watch For from earlier today.
