Cloud migration is the process of moving applications and data from a single location (typically the company's private servers located on-premises (on-premises servers)) to the servers of public cloud providers and between different clouds. The main benefits of migrating to the cloud are reduced IT costs and increased productivity. But there are other benefits as well, such as a high level of security and convenience. There are two key technical factors for most migration scenarios:
1. The type of resource (or workload) being transferred.
2. The location to which the migration is performed.
