In 2008, Crocs lost $4.5 million and closed two manufacturing facilities in Brazil and Canada. It also curtailed production in Mexico and China, and hired a new CEO, John Duerden. They had over 15,000 stores around the world and employed 5,300 people. Regardless of the setbacks, strawberry Crocs remained committed to their vision, and have remained a successful brand.
