Take a look back at the bosses in the game when OSRS Gold OSRS launched (using the wiki to calculate dropped rates as well as loosely estimation of the kill time by memory) -DKS, each having 2-3 uniques at 1/128 and the fight takes one or two minutes.

Barrows has 1/15 unique drop rate but the entire process takes between 5 and 10 minutes which is generous. KQ 1/128 unique drop rate and the entire fight could take maybe 5 minutes (not counting the travel duration). GWD bosses, each has many unique traits, however the probability of hitting the table with unique characteristics is one in 127. The fights can last from 1 to 5 minutes in length.

Corp is a hard one to conquer to this. On one hand, you could say it has a 1/64 drop rate of a rare that is the spirit shield however, it also has the 1/170 for the holy elixir. However nobody is looking to get those drops because they want the sigils, which is a 1/585 rate that will hit the table - more than any boss before it. I'm not sure if adding the divine sigil could alter this, but most likely not. Kill times are even more difficult to determine since this was an enormous boss in teams at the time of the day(10+ per person), but now it's typically 1-4 man teams.

Very reasonable drop rates along with kill speeds. Next, we can look at the early old school bosses, they're immediately different than any other existing boss. The Trident is 1/3512 as is the tentacle at 1/400. In addition, they stipulated that it can only be used to fight a particular task which was never a thing prior to .... the best aspect about the boss is the fact that it's comparable to a 30- second to 2-minute fight which is still fair.

Zulrah, 2 separate rolls of 1/256, making the unique 1/128 with possibly 2-5 minutes kill time initially, but at least at the time the boss was out.

I'm not going to go through every single boss but you'll get the general impression of how exaggerated the new drop rates are when you examine the gauntlet that is corrupted and nightmare. Bosses with over 10 minute kill times have unique drop rates of 1/600 or 1/400. If we compare this to when OSRS first launched and was first introduced, a boss that had a 10+ minute kills time would have had an average drop rate of 1/6 or at the very least 1/127. The rates are now more rare and I feel like that could be affecting the excitement and the satisfaction of killing bosses. These high drop rates mean a person or group of people killing a boss may go on for weeks without even a single drop. To me, that doesn't bring back the old school. Seeing those big drops, particularly when you're bossing with colleagues is among the greatest moments in playing OSRS and I think this kind of feeling pulls players in and keeps them going.

I'm curious about what other players' thoughts are on buy rs gp all of this.
