Debentures meaning in accounting.:- Debentures are a type of loan-like instrument that financial institutions issue in the form of securities. Debentures have features akin to those of bonds in that they are loans with regular fixed interest payments, but debentures carry no principal. The lender pays no money upfront for debentures and can even go unpaid for an extended period of time depending upon the relevant terms of the debenture.
