The chilled water system is mainly a closed system composed of the evaporator heat exchange tube of the refrigeration unit, the chilled water circulation pump, the water separator, the water collector, the expansion water tank, the make-up pump, the water treatment device, and the corresponding valves and pipelines.

Chilled water systems can be divided into the following categories:

  1. Double tube system

The double-pipe system is the most used system, especially in southern areas where summer cooling is the main purpose. The double-pipe system consists of a water supply pipe and a return pipe. The hot water supply in winter and the cold water supply in summer are all in the same casing. The main advantage of the double-pipe system is that the system is simple and the initial investment is small, but there are the following disadvantages :

(1) Due to the large difference in the temperature difference between supply and return water when supplying hot water in winter and supplying cold water in summer, the difference in circulating water volume in the water system in winter and summer is large. water pump.

(2) Due to the different changing laws of heat and humidity loads in each air-conditioning room, especially in transitional seasons, there will be a phenomenon that the rooms on the sunny side require cold water supply and the rooms on the shady side require hot water supply.   1. Three-pipe system

Each end air treatment coil of the three-pipe system is provided with two water supply pipes, cold and hot, and the return water shares one return pipe. There is a three-way valve at the water inlet of the unit to control the supply of cold and hot water, the room temperature control is more flexible, the ability to adapt to load changes is strong, and the temperature and humidity can be well adjusted throughout the year, but the energy loss is large, and the initial investment higher than a two-pipe system.
