Body

Using steel flanges in pipes and industrial processes is essential to optimize maintenance and repair when necessary. So, knowing that there is a wide range of such accessories in the market, it becomes essential to know the features of each of them. Astm a182 f11 flange use, exposure, pressure and other factors to which he will be exposed. Maintenance is an essential and flexible component of the system in pipe laying and industrial operation. Flanges are accessories that provide versatility in the assembly and disassembly of pipes, providing speed and efficiency in the process.

What is a flange?

Flanges are elements made of materials such as stainless steel and carbon steel. They connect joints and accessories in various systems such as pipes, valves, pumps, boilers, heat exchangers, etc. duplex flange manufacturer claims that these accessories save time and money in industrial operations, resulting in significant savings for the company.

Types of flanges

To talk about the types of steel flanges on the market and to choose the most suitable one, we need to know the applications they receive and the conditions they are exposed to.

Carbon steel flanges are especially for everyday use at moderate temperatures, plus corrosion resistance is a less critical factor. However, if the environment to which the flange will be exposed is more severe and the pressure and temperature are higher, it is best to use a special steel or alloy steel flange.

  • SO (Slip-on) or Slide Flange: A collar flange can slide the outside of the pipe into the flange without any problems. It is used for pipes with low pressure and normal condition and has the advantages of low cost and easy construction.
  • WN (Welding Neck) Flange with welding neck: There are two designs for this type of flange, one with a tall conical neck and the other with a narrow conical channel. The main advantage of neck flanges is that they can be welded directly to the pipe.
  • Blind flanges: There are no holes in the middle, as their primary function is to seal the ends of the pipe to prevent or stop the flow. Its ability to apply pressure is very high.
  • Flanges for lap joints or LP (lap joints): This type of flange is designed not to come into contact with liquids and is ideal for applications where high corrosion resistance is required.
  • Threaded Flange: it has an internal thread that can be screwed into a pipe without welding. For this reason, threaded flanges are usually easier to install and require less time to maintain and repair.

These are some of the most common and used flanges, but there are other options to suit your piping needs and applications. The important thing to note is that using ASTM A182 F22 Flange not only allows for process optimization but also provides safety for the entire piping system. Therefore, the choice of the most suitable type must be made with an understanding of its use and purpose.

Duplex pipe fittings manufacturers in india offer Resistance to chemicals and saltwater environments, making 316 stainless steel flanges the ideal fastening solution for harsh environments such as mining, marine industries and coastal locations.
