As more and more countries are gradually opening their borders, remote and independent work began to gain momentum, and more and more major cities around the world are adopting new economic conditions and struggling to attract the attention of wealthy and breakthrough people. Today, many companies around the world have introduced the ability to work 100% remotely or with the ability to occasionally visit an office. This collaborative format has proven to be beneficial not only to employees, but also to the companies themselves. Not surprisingly, Dubai has decided to break into this "head-to-head race" by offering innovative and attractive programs for living and working in the country. Among these programs are the Freelancer Visa and the new Digital Nomad Visas.

Digital Nomad Visa

Many people now prefer a lifestyle that is not tied to one particular place of residence. They are becoming what they call digital nomads. Their skills and scope of work allow them to work from anywhere in the world. In October 2022, Dubai announced the possibility of issuing such a visa for foreigners. This visa allows employees of companies based outside the UAE to work remotely in Dubai. Digital Nomad Visa is also available for business owners who can manage their companies remotely while in Dubai. It is important to note, however, that the company must be located outside the UAE.

Required Documents:
  • Passport with a validity of at least 6 months.
  • Photo of the first page of your passport.
  • Medical insurance with a period of coverage in the UAE.

Freelance Visa

Can you offer unique services in media, information technology, education and design? Do you want to work independently and not depend on a supervisor and remotely? Then the freelance visa is for you. A freelance visa allows you to work in Dubai and provide unique services without being tied to a single company. You can legally provide your services in the UAE (where the average check is higher than in Moscow). You can provide your services in social networks, be a content provider, makeup artist, fashion designer, web developer, IT and telecommunications expert, researcher, trainer. This list could go on for an entire article.

You can find a lot of useful information for digital nomads on the Citizen Remote website.
