What are the causes of leukorrhea?

Leukorrhea is a condition in which white, yellow, or brownish discharge is discharged from the vagina. It may be caused by infection, irritation, or inflammation of the vagina.
There are several possible causes of leukorrhea:
Vaginal infections - Bacterial vaginosis and trichomoniasis are two common bacterial infections that can cause changes in vaginal discharge. Trichomoniasis is a sexually transmitted disease that can affect men and women. Bacterial vaginitis is an infection caused by bacteria (usually Gardnerella vaginalis) that produces thick, yellow-green discharge from the vagina.
Viral infections - Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection may cause a small amount of clear or white fluid to come from the vagina or cervix. This is called cervical ectopy and it's usually not painful or noticeable unless there's also bleeding from one or both of these areas. HPV can also lead to other problems such as cervical cancer, genital warts, and preterm births.
Injury - Tears in the wall of the vagina or cervix may lead to bleeding during sexual intercourse (intercourse bleeding). This type of bleeding can be light red or dark red depending on how much blood was lost during pregnancy.
