Let’s be honest: moving can be very stressful. There is just so much to do, so much to keep in mind, and so many items to be checked off of so many lists. By the time that moving day actually comes around, you might feel downright exhausted already. But that’s when the hard work is just beginning because moving day is filled with a ton of tasks and things to keep in mind.

It doesn’t have to be stressful! In fact, moving day can be something of a breeze, but only if you have planned ahead and are remembering a few tips and tricks that will make the entire process painless and actually enjoyable.

You should be very excited if you are moving into one of the many wonderful apartments for rent near UC Berkeley. But you should also be sure that you are planning accordingly and making sure that your moving day experience is not a nightmare, but a happy memory.

Plan Ahead: You don’t want to do everything at the last minute. That is a quick recipe for complete disaster. Therefore, you need to lay out some plans well ahead of the big day.

To reduce all of the last-minute stress that will make your head spin, you can start preparing your move early. In fact, it’s never too early to start planning.

To get things going, make a moving checklist and timetable to keep track of all needed tasks such as packing, hiring movers, transferring utilities to your new place, and changing your address.

Declutter: Clean as you go! That is good advice that you should definitely follow when you are getting ready for your moving day.

Make the effort to clear any excess stuff you have before you start your packing. You can do this by donating, selling, or trashing things that you no longer use in order to lighten your load and decrease the amount of things that you must move.

Pack Essentials: Always make sure that you pack some extra boxes with certain goods that you'll need right away after moving into your new apartment, such as toiletries, a change of clothing, medication, documents, and basic cooking supplies.

This will allow you to feel comfortable during your first night at the new place. You won’t be scrambling and unpacking random boxes looking for what you need because you’ll know it’s all in one place.

Ask For Help: Don’t be afraid of reaching out to people you trust and asking for some assistance.

If it’s possible, you should ask your friends or family to help with your move. Being able to rely on other people may make certain activities like moving big and heavy furniture and boxes simpler and faster. This will, of course, take away a lot of stress and pressure that is on your shoulders during the move.
