HOW DOES AN EDITORIAL CALENDAR IMPROVE YOUR CONTENT STRATEGY?

Sky Marketing strives to be Pakistan's biggest real estate developer ever, guaranteeing the highest international standards, prompt execution, and lifetime customer loyalty. With projects like park view city lahore installments.

However, more and more modern marketing departments and Inbound Marketing agencies are using these calendars as a consequence of a new function that resembles what they had in the media of yesteryear.

The production and management of content has become a central part of how businesses present themselves to the market , both on the B2C and B2B side, or it has resulted in a titanic increase in the volume of content that is produced on a daily basis.

The sheer volume of content required to drive a brand has made the content calendar an essential tool in any marketer's arsenal.

The content tsunami

Even though the number of content creators is still less than the number of consumers for whom they create content, the amount of content you can find on the internet is ridiculously huge. And as a content specialist I tell you that it is very easy to get overwhelmed by this.

Without a solid system to manage your content and the channels in which you will distribute it, it is easy to choke it.

This is why keeping a calendar and managing it efficiently is essential in your content marketing efforts.

Keeping a calendar ensures that your blog (and that of your clients) and other content efforts stay aligned in terms of publishing relevant and timely content.

It is, without a doubt, also a useful tool to implement and measure the effectiveness of the inbound content you produce.

Choose a platform

There are a few platforms out there that serve to help you effectively manage your editorial calendar. Wordpress is a popular option for many creators, while HubSpot also has a great tool (which I recommend because it is the one I use the most frequently).

There are also other tools like Trello, Kapost, Content DJ, and Inbound Writer, to name a few.

If you're just getting started, Google Docs can be effective (and it's free!).

Of course, if all else fails, you can always use Excel (as long as it helps you, anything is possible).

Perhaps you can meet your content management needs with one platform, or perhaps you need a combination of different types of software. In the end, it is important that you find the tool (or tools) that work for you in your daily work at the company.

Prepare your calendar

Once you choose your platform, you will need to adjust a system for how to generate and manage your content.

The nuances of exactly how a content calendar is tracked varies from organization to organization, and there is no single “right way” to do it.

However, the essential points of a calendar should include the following:

  • Publication date
  • Subject, title or heading
  • Author or responsible
  • Current production status (in progress, under review, approved)
  • Bell
  • KeyWords
  • Publication manager
  • Copy for social networks
  • URL or file location

Keep your target in your sights

In the same way that in Star Wars it is important for the pilots of the rebellious X-Wings to stay on target in the face of overwhelming enemy fire, it is important that in your company or Inbound Marketing agency you stay focused on your editorial calendar above the overwhelming temptation to check Facebook.

An editorial calendar will pay off as you put effort into it.

You will need to make sure that the objectives are met within the established deadlines and that all the details have been polished.

Keeping your content strategy on point is a multifaceted process. It involves thinking about individual themes for each piece, having someone in charge of producing it, another of editing it, and finally someone to optimize and schedule it (along with the accompanying social media posts).

Stay ahead of the game

If there's one piece of advice you should take to heart in terms of keeping things in order, it's to stay ahead of the game.

Don't put yourself in a position where you end up racing or looking for last minute solutions. In fact, it's known in Murphy's Law of Marketing that last-minute solutions are going to happen anyway, so don't make it harder for yourself on purpose.

Your calendar is a way to keep all your files in order and make sure that if something goes wrong, you quickly find the causes, to minimize the consequences.

Getting your calendar up and running, building a tracking system, and mastering it is going to take a lot of time and patience.

However, once you do the heavy lifting, you'll find that your calendar is one of your most valuable assets in terms of keeping your content strategy aligned with your digital marketing goals.
