Doug Godley

Doug Godley grew up in Charlotte, NC and graduated from Wake Forest University, with a degree in Chemistry. He worked for one year as a Chemist for Diamond Shamrock. Doug then got his real estate license and started his business career. Doug’s grandfather, M.R.,“Chick”, Godley was his business mentor.

Doug and his brother, Ken, had an idea for a family entertainment park and then dove into their first development project by spearheading the design, financing and construction of Frankie’s Fun Park in North Charleston, SC in July, 1990. Doug and Ken’s partners in this first Frankie’s venture was their father, Jimmy Godley, and their two uncles, Frankie and Johnny Godley. Four years later in 1994, they cut the ribbon on Frankie’s of Columbia. Frankie’s of Greenville, SC opened in 1999. The fourth location opened in Raleigh, NC in 2005. Doug is the sole owner of Frankie’s now and the fifth Frankie’s location opened in Charlotte, NC in 2018. The sixth Frankie’s location will open in Atlanta Metro in 2025.

In February, 2009, Doug opened Wild Olive, an Italian restaurant on Johns Island, SC with local seafood and house made pasta. In March of 2014, he opened The Obstinate Daughter on Sullivan’s Island, SC. The O/D is a Mediterranean inspired restaurant with an emphasis on seafood and house made pasta.

Doug’s current projects include, The Douglas boutique inn that will open in Savannah, GA in early Fall of 2024. A unique restaurant concept will open on the property in early Spring of 2025.
