The cartridge was introduced to U.S. and German troops in early 1904 and showed widespread use in World War I and has since increased in performance. It is designed to die at a height of 50 meters but can withstand more mortality rates. It has a flat trajectory, making it a very accurate pistol.
The 9mm cartridge allows an extensive magazine to be inserted into a small pistol while still supporting performance that beats competitors.
As time went on and laps had to compete with other calibers, it became the standard carrier.
In addition to thousands of police stations, the military found the 9mm caliber to be better at ballistics than the previous agency's caliber, or 38 special bullets. With relatively little recoil, the 9mm caliber shells can routinely travel at a muzzle velocity of between 1,200 and 1,400 feet per second. With full metal ranged missiles and hollow point rounds used primarily for self-defense, typically shooters prefer the 115-grit round bullet used for shooter training due to its slight recoil. Many shooters will rely on heavier bands for self-defense as the 9mm cartridge is widely available with 124 rounds and 147 grains.
You can expect the muzzle energy to be around 600 joules or 450 pounds per foot with these heavier bullets, a very decent level for a pistol round.
We have complete 9x19 ammunition for sale, including complete rounds of metal training jackets and lined hollow bullets for self-defense. As you may know, the 9mm bears several different names, but they all refer to the same NATO standardized cartridge.
Some of these other names include:

9mm Ammo Types & Their Uses
For use in the armed forces, law enforcement, and self-defense, the 9mm cartridge has sometimes sparked much debate about its lack of stopping power, especially compared to the .45 ACP. But with modern technology, 9mm ammunition comes in various types for many situations - including combat, on duty, and defense.
Unjacketed: Unjacketed ammo features lead bullets with no external casing, making them slower and less powerful
Full Metal Jackets (FMJ): 9mm FMJ ammo is by far the most popular and has a lead bullet covered with copper or other hard metal; they are primarily used for target and range shooting
Jacketed hollow point (JHP): JHP 9mm ammo has a lead bullet with a hollow point inside, but it is still covered with copper; these bullets extend on impact, increasing stopping power are used by the military, law enforcement and to protect themselves.
Open tip game (OTM): OTM ammunition is designed for target and competitive shooting, like hollow points, but not as deadly; these cartridges are accurate and consistent
Ballistic Tips: Hollowpoint ammo with a plastic top, 9mm ballistic cartridges are designed for pistol hunting, giving them power and stop length
Aside from these differences in bullet design, there are differences in bullet weight, casing, and pressure. Most 9mm FMJ ammunition weighs between 115 and 147 gr. A general range is 115 gr, and NATO 9mm is 124 gr, and some 9mm self-defense rounds are even heavier at 135 gr.
Casings are made of 9mm cartridges, sometimes called shells, brass, aluminum, or steel. Brass is by far the most popular due to ease of reloading, and steel is used to keep costs down. Aluminum is very popular because it is affordable and lightweight; although it cannot be reloaded, many enthusiastic shooters adhere to traditional brass shells.
There is a significant difference with more powerful ammo in terms of its loading pressure. 9mm NATO, self-defense cartridges, and 9mm + P or + P + rounds - these four types of cartridges tend to heat up and increase power due to higher pressure.
