Top 3 Things to Check before Commencement of Work on Suspended Platforms

Body

A suspended platform is a kind of surface that is used at various construction sites, for working at a great height. Here are the top 3 things that you need to look at, before work begins on suspended platforms.

Joining point

It is essential to check whether there are liners in the joining point between the suspended platform cradle anchor and the safety rope. Unless you can find the same, do not commence work on the platform. And even if work has started already, bring it to a halt instantly. Otherwise, there could be perilous injuries.

Point of suspension

You also need to check whether the safety rope has been fastened to a firm point on the top of the building that the work is supposed to commence on. Check the safety rope of the cradle and ensure that the overall length of the same is less or more than the height of the building that the work is supposed to commence on.

Safety nets

A fall will be inevitable unless a suspended wire rope platform is set up in a proper way, and it is not a good idea to rely only on anchorages and harnesses. If these break or fail to work for some reason, there could be a risk of severe injuries, permanent disability or loss of limbs. Thus, it is a good idea to set up safety nets down below the platforms, so as to arrest falls from a height midway and ensure the safety of workers.
