Ways to act for the environment for a company

Acting for the environment when you are a company is not incompatible! There are several ways to act at this level, which we detail in this article.

Working in a company and being respectful of the environment, an oxymoron? In reality, no! A company can take measures to reduce its ecological impact apart from following the standards laid down by NCC as per Section J. In this time of global warming, it's up to everyone to make efforts and carry out actions that may ultimately prove to be decisive...

However, in business, these actions can only be effective if they are built collectively. It is therefore essential to involve and educate your employees. Do they feel very concerned about the subject? So, discover these ecological tips (the list is not exhaustive) that you can quickly implement.

Reduce energy consumption

Sometimes we don't even realize it anymore, but our current society is very energy-intensive. Many companies today need digital technology (and therefore electricity) to operate. As an expense report management app, we're not going to say the opposite!

However, there are very simple actions to reduce our energy consumption:

Switch off electronic devices

In the hour of debauchery, adopt the right gestures; first, don't forget to say goodbye to your co-workers (they'll appreciate you all the more), but then unplug your devices! (There, it is the climate which will appreciate). Switch off your computers, phones, and tablets that you are not using; this will conserve batteries and keep your devices longer. And above all, also think of multiple sockets! "Phantom voltage" also consumes energy...

Close your office and workspace

Once all your devices are unplugged, remember to turn off the light when you leave and any additional heaters or air conditioners that you may have.

Besides, a little aside on the temperature of the premises; whether in winter (heating) or summer (air conditioning), try as much as possible to be measured. As a first step, be sure to close the windows to avoid the loss of heat or coolness. Then, for optimal comfort, it is advisable to have a maximum temperature difference of 8 ° C between the outside and the inside. This prevents thermal shocks and reduces energy costs. Residential homes can get their energy efficiency rating through Nathers Assessment.

Reasoning the management of supplies

Granted, we are more and more digitally dependent, yet we still love to doodle and take notes with a notebook and pens. However, it may not be necessary to use five different notebooks (1 for each meeting?) And ten pens (unless you like to use colour). Reasoned management of your supplies will therefore allow them to be purchased only if necessary. You will thus avoid storage, and you will gain space!

All you need to do is provide various bins (general, paper, glass) that will allow you to recover the waste, then retrieve it internally (recycling) or externally via specialized organizations. Sometimes, if the amount of waste produced is too low, organizations will refuse to collect it. In this case, don't panic: see your neighbours and pool your waste.
