"We knew we desired to get married abroad, and also have holidayed in France a great deal, so decided which was the place. After going to several venues we knew that Lartigolle ticked all of the boxes, however, they didn't possess a date available."
"Luckily we held in touch and got a cancellation date for June. We also desired to extend the marriage over a day or two, and also the venue was built with a pool, that was a great party area during the day after."
"I liked the venue because it played to my tastes, and I could see how my style would easily fit in well. I don't like anything too structured and formal and wanted wild, local flowers inside a mixture of pastels with a few brighter colors put in. I showed them at Lartigolle all of the floral arrangements that I liked, plus they brought it alive."
The bridesmaids looked brilliant in sleek, ivory sexy cocktail dresses, that they paired with pumps, diamond stud earrings, and flowers within their hair.
The lovely flower girls wore frothy tulle dresses with applique flowers, whilst the pageboys wore chino shorts, shirts, and braces.
We have a photographer to thank for these glorious, intimate, sun-drenched images, and Lindsy and Dominic were thrilled to use the results of his work.
"Dominic found Nigel because he was taking a look at good photos in the venue, and he'd done a marriage there the year before. We loved his style and also the great images he'd. Nigel was amazing. He got our vibe and also the fact we wanted natural shots – that they nailed. A top bloke with amazing skills – I'm just considering when we could use him again!"
"We met at university over 16 years back and started dating pretty quickly! Dominic inquired about marrying him at the end of the lovely trip traveling around Kerala in India after 2016, and that we were married a year along with a half later."
As guests gathered in the sunshine in front of the ceremony, Dominic was the epitome of cool in sunglasses, a cheque jacket, shirt, polka dot tie, and pocket square, that they wore with chinos and shoes.
"We had our legal ceremony with just family earlier within the year and wanted the marriage day in France to become personal to us. We asked our friends to create and perform the ceremony, coupled with readings and songs all performed by friends, too."
On her feet, Lindsy wore shoes, and her earrings were diamond studs, that have been Valentine's gift from Dominic a few years back.
Whilst the newly married couple enjoyed some quiet time, walking through the pool, within the lovely grounds, and within the cool of the old chateau, guests chatted, laughed, and drank outside.
After the very first dance concluded, it had been indoors towards the wine cellars, which had been changed into a subterranean club for that occasion, with live music from Manchester soul and Motown band, then friends DJing into the night.
"I think our pool party the next day would be a major highlight. We had guests arrive back in the chateau quite early and the England World Cup match was on the big screen underneath the chateau. We then had friends DJing around the pool all afternoon – coupled with the chateau set up a cocktail bar serving daiquiris and pina Coladas within the sunshine, followed by a BBQ within the courtyard, more dancing around the pool, after which pizza vans resulted in to fill us up before we've got stuck directly into a karaoke session! It was this type of fun day."
Words of Wedded Wisdom
"I would certainly advise to make it personal and become unique. Just because weddings possess a set/traditional formula, don't think you have to help keep to that."
