They celebrated their marriage on 13 July 2018, in the splendid, Ferentillo, within the province of Terni in southern Umbria, Italy.

From Rome's bridal boutique, Maria decided on a showstopping, ethereal gown with a frothy, full tulle skirt, and a plunging, embroidered bodice with subtle sparkle.

"I chose my dress because of its elegance, simplicity, and sensuality.”

Feeling incredibly emotional the moment she saw the abbey, Maria knew it had been the perfect venue to marry Gilles.

"I had very special emotions in my heart. Above all, or day was relying on our elegant type of living, simplicity, and also to have a religious ceremony."

I love the softly weathered and worn elegance of the day, by using frayed ribbons and old book pages, towards the use of vintage crystals and candlesticks. It all came together beautifully, with reverence towards the venue's background and heritage.

Groom Gilles walked down the aisle together with his aunt; a sweet and touching moment and wore a good navy blue suit together with handmade shoes, and cufflinks he chose in Paris.

Maria's sweet bridesmaids and flower girls walked on the chapel aisle hand-in-hand, wearing classic white flower girl dresses with pink sashes, and waxflower crowns by Sartoria Floreale.
Maria and her father walked down the flower-filled aisle together, and also the couple's ceremony was conducted by Father Adenis Roberto de Oliveira, from Parrocchia Santa Maria Della Perseveranza in Rome.

“The very first time we saw one another was in the roof garden of  the Orange Hotel in Rome, near San Pietro Square. Maria was there with a few friends that I also knew, but throughout the night we didn’t say anything to one another, except our names.”

Groom Gilles walked down the aisle together with his aunt; a sweet and touching moment and wore a good navy blue suit together with handmade shoes, and cufflinks he chose in Paris.

"Destiny wanted us to satisfy again after six months, inside a disco in Rome, at which time we spent a pleasant night together. Our promise of marriage is made in Santorini, on August 31, 2017, inside a beautiful location (Santo Wines), but I was already officially engaged since January 2013."

As the sun's rays began to set around the day, the candles, abbey spotlights, and festoon lights glowed from the softening sky, and reflected on the wonderful table plan, with elegant calligraphy on mirrored trays.

Maria, Gilles as well as their loved ones sat down to some wonderful wedding dinner produced by. For dessert, there is a sweet table filled with treats; personalized macarons, speckled sugared almonds, and trays of exquisite marzipan.

With balloons, sparklers, dancing, and joy, Maria and Gilles’ magical day came to some close most perfectly.

"We wouldn't change anything concerning the day, it had been all magnificent!"

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"I believe that the most important thing would be to have towards the best day of your life using the absolute certainty from the choice you've made, and most importantly to face the entire journey together with your partner as a whole serenity, not caring by what others think, but just concerning the things that you want!"
