A Boho, Humanist + Feminist Wedding

The couple met at school-aged fifteen and therefore are now a trainee clinical psychologist (Chloe) along with a primary school teacher (Kieran). The Citadel was an ideal spot for a backyard humanist ceremony, plus they had full rein total aspects of your day, including food, flowers, and decor. Their inspiration was 'summer English country', weaving outdoor games and afternoon tea right into a relaxed, bohemian day.

"I saw this dress on the internet and fell in love. I love the lace train and also the tiny detailing, the spaghetti straps, the small bows around the back straps, and also the hug from the dress."

The flower girls look so cute in their pink flower girl dresses and also the hue would be a great match for the gowns that the grown-up bridesmaids wore; an array of dresses. They all wore delicate crystal earrings from and fresh crowns to complement Chloe's. I'm this type of fan from the mismatched search for relaxed bridesmaids.

The bride embraced her natural blonde curls, styling them herself with this gorgeous boho look. I'm deeply in love with the simple and oh-so bridal crown of gypsophila leaving which completed her outfit.

"Alex Griffiths who manages the weddings at The Citadel is dedicated to helping make your day unique and how we pictured it. She has only a few weddings here annually, therefore it felt exclusive and private. She gave us full rein of your day and we were so pleased to be able to possess our ceremony and reception all in a single place. It resulted in the décor, which we did ourselves, was simpler to put together within a few days before."

"We wanted the marriage to feel relaxed and bohemian. We were inspired by summer English country vibes with outdoor games and afternoon tea. We wanted our guests to possess fun and our wedding not to feel overly formal because that didn't fit with who we were as a couple or as individuals. We opted for botanical greens, pinks, and greys." Go

Meanwhile, Kieran was preparing together with his groomsmen. He had selected a good three-piece suit inside a bold check from, worn having a blue shirt and soft pink tie.

"The best man and groomsmen wore the same suit as Kieran – the only difference being that Kieran wore a waistcoat. The boys all wore braces and flamingo socks that Kieran brought them to complement the theme from the wedding."

"We met at secondary school whenever we were 15 years old and put within the same science class. We were close friends for 2 yrs before Kieran inquired about being his girlfriend on Valentine's Day… after chickening the week before. After seven many years of dating, we decided that people wanted to get engaged and thus we visited the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham together to choose and buy a diamond ring."

The couple took a risk using the weather but thankfully, the drizzle disappeared just in time for that ceremony. I think the rain might have made the colors from the floral backdrop pop much more.

"We desired to break many of the traditions of weddings that didn't fit with our feminist viewpoints. For example, the groomsmen and also the bridesmaids walked down the aisle together and I wasn't given away, not from one man to a different. I walked the first part from the aisle on my own and was met by Kieran halfway on the aisle, walking the rest of the way in unison."

"To style the venue, we were built with a photo booth that people created ourselves buying hats and props from charity shops and outlets. We already were built with a Polaroid camera, so provided lots of film along with a book to stay them in! We also were built with a fingerprint painting that was again developed by my best friend and bridesmaid."

"I need to give a big thanks to our family, bridesmaids, and groomsmen here because everyone worked so hard within the days before to brighten the whole marquee and grounds. It would be a lot of effort but so lovely to determine everyone we like helping to produce a day so special."

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"I suggest ensuring you receive some time alone together with your husband to become. After our couple portraits, we made time for you to walk around the grounds alone together also it was among my favorite parts of your day."
